Description: scan of catalog card [FRONT] [MAIN BODY] Chicago Natural History Museum - Ethnology | 22-30 | Provenience: Benin, Nigeria | People or Culture: Bini | Object: Dagger and sheath | Material: Iron, leather, wood | Description: .1) dagger; .2) sheath.- Dagger collected and brought to England from Benin by Dr. F. Norman-Roth, the Medical officer to the Expedition of 1897. Acquired by Fuller from his Widow, Mrs. Winifred Norman-Roth 17 May 1923. Dagger with an iron blade and a wooden handle covered with leather and bound with 3 bands, 2 of brass & 1 of iron. There is a loop for a belt on the leather sheath.
